The counseling office is closed for the summer, but here are some frequently asked questions and answers:

    1. Enrollment-if you are enrolling a new student to the Brookings School District please start here: and follow the detailed instructions.
    2.  Schedule Corrections for 2020-2021 School Year: A process for schedule corrections only is in place at BHS. Schedule corrections will not be handled via phone calls, e-mails or parent meetings.  Counselors cannot make changes.  All requests for schedule corrections must be made through the BHS Schedule Corrections Form which will become available after schedules are released in August.  Try not to worry about your schedule right now~we can visit about it before school starts!
    3. Transcripts: If you need to request a formal transcript, please utilize our online system at:  Informal transcripts may be printed off your Student Portal.  Always use an email address you will have post-high school when creating your account.
    4.  Dual Credit Requests & Forms- All students planning to take Dual Credit Courses were asked to attend a meeting and have Dual Credit Forms signed by May 8 th.  If you missed this or have recently decided to sign up for Dual Credit, please refer to the SD Dual Credit Page for more information on how to register and courses available.  If you do register for a course over the summer, forms will be signed electronically when counselors return to the office in mid-August.
    5.   SD Opportunity Scholarship Applications- Seniors, these forms do not need counselor signature this year due to the unique circumstances.  You may send them in!  Remember, they are due to your institution September 1st.
    6.   Emergencies- If you are needing help for a personal issue, please contact one of the great agency counselors in our community.  This is a great resource for help: Please call 911 for all urgent and immediate needs.

    Have a great summer!
