My pathway to teaching began at Morningside College in Sioux City, IA, where I graduated with a major in biology and minors in chemistry and math. I continued my education at South Dakota State University earning my Masters of Science Teaching in physics, chemistry and mathematics. When asked to teach engineering at BHS I attended the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities the summers of 2010 and 2011 to complete the certification for teaching the Project Lead The Way engineering curriculum.
