Heather Miller-Cink - Principal

Welcome to Brookings High School!

My name is Heather Miller-Cink, Principal at Brookings High School. Born and raised in South Dakota, I'm thrilled to be back in my home state. After graduating high school from Sioux Falls Lincoln, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in music education from Gustavus Adolphus College. I furthered my commitment to education by earning my Master's Degree and Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership/Administration from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

My family and I lived in Brooklyn Park, MN for 29 years. During that time, I was a teacher, dean of students, assistant principal, and principal for the Osseo Area School District, the fifth-largest school district in Minnesota. With 20 years of administrative experience, I am excited about the opportunity to provide leadership for the Brookings School District.

I look forward to getting to know each of you and working together to make BHS an even better place for our students. Let's create an inspiring, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student can thrive.

Justin Stanley- Assistant Principal

My name is Justin Stanley and it is an honor to serve as Assistant Principal of Brookings High School, which happens to be my Alma Mater. I received my B.S. degree from University of Mary and my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as Educational Leadership from North Dakota State University.

I spent my first 9 years in education teaching Health Education in Bismarck, ND. My first principal experience was in Harvey, ND where I served as the High School Principal for 6 years from 2015-2021. In 2021, I accepted the Assistant Principal position at BHS.
