My name is Zach Thomas and I am the Interim Principal at Brookings High School, where I am a proud alumnus. After graduating from Brookings High School, I began my teaching career in Marshall, Minnesota followed by a year at Camelot Intermediate. I then returned to Brookings High School, where I served as a teacher and spent two years working in Learner Support. Last school year I served as the BHS Assistant Principal. I hold my Master's degree in Education Administration from South Dakota State University.

It is with great excitement that I welcome you to BHS and look forward to helping our student learn and grow!

My name is Phil Thramer, and I am the Interim Assistant Principal at Brookings High School. Brookings has been home for my family and I for the past 4 years.  Education has taken me a handful of places throughout my career.  Before our move to Brookings, I began my teaching career in my home state of Nebraska.  I served as a science teacher and coach in the Aurora, Nebraska school district for 4 years.  I then moved to Manhattan, Kansas and taught science and coached at Manhattan High School.  Our move to South Dakota led me to a one-year teaching position at Madison High School.  Prior to my current position, I was part of the Science department at BHS for 3 years.  I currently hold my master's degrees in educational ​ administration from Emporia State University along with curriculum and instruction from Doane College. 

I am excited to serve all of our students in this new role and look forward to all the growth that our students will experience while at BHS!
