What's better than one Principal for a Day? TWO Principals for a Day! Mr. Kassa helped out all over the school today! He started the day with an All School Assembly, where he made announcements, played in the staff game, and helped with prizes. He also counted all of the lockers in the school for a future project, delivered recess equipment, visited classrooms, and recognized learners who had 95% attendance in the third quarter! Mr. Kassa ended the day by announcing a pajama day for the whole school! Thanks for all of your hard work today, Mr. Kassa!

Principal for the Day
Oscar won a new raffle prize at Hillfest this year - "Principal for the Day!" How cool was it to have a Kindergartener for a principal? Pretty cool! Oscar helped with "principal jobs" all day - morning announcements, maintenance support, classroom observations - complete with encouraging notes for the teacher, and a special "principal lunch." Oscar even decided that a schoolwide Hat Day was needed! Thanks for your help, Mr. Oscar!

🔴 ⚫Congratulations to our Hillcrest Teacher of the Year, Darcie Malcom and to our Educational Support Professional of the Year, Joeve Krier! We are so lucky to have these exceptional educators at Hillcrest!

Mrs. Malcom is an exceptional team player. She is always game for a dress up day, week, or month. She brings the fun with her willingness to wear blow up costumes at pickup, which puts a smile on parents, learners, and other staff’s faces. She creates the monthly ENCORE newsletter, supports learners through the Check-In/Check-Out program, assists staff with technology needs, and willingly helps new and substitute teachers.

Ms. Joeve is a true team player through and through. She works diligently to meet the needs of our diverse learners. She demonstrates a calm demeanor, patience, and genuine care in every interaction she has with learners. Ms. Joeve builds strong, trusting relationships with learners and colleagues and is always willing to help wherever needed. Her positive attitude, dedication to her work, and love for her learners make her an incredible human and co-worker!
