Brookings High School’s One-Act Play cast and crew delivered an outstanding performance at the State One-Act Play Festival, held February 5–7 in Brandon, South Dakota.

This year’s production, A Hymn to the Hateful by Finegan Kruckemeyer, is a powerful and thought-provoking play that explores the fragility of those who harbor hate, revealing their fear of isolation and their deep desire for connection. The 26-member cast and crew represented Brookings with professionalism, creativity, and strong stage presence throughout the festival.

Their efforts were recognized with five Outstanding Actor Awards, along with an Outstanding Ensemble Award for the remaining cast members—an honor that highlights the strength of the full company and the collaborative nature of the production.
