Veterans Program

Dakota Prairie is hosting a meaningful celebration of the Veterans who have served our country. Our goal is to honor their service and to help our learners understand why this day matters.

The program will be held on Wednesday, November 11th, at 8:45 a.m. in our gym. Students have been practicing special songs to share with our guests, and we are gathering photos of the Veterans in our students’ lives. These photos will be part of a slideshow presented during the program, so each learner can see the people they know and love honored on the big screen.

Veterans are warmly invited to wear their uniform or bring an item that represents their branch or time in service. Whether it’s a medal, a flag, a photograph, or a keepsake, these items can spark conversations with our learners and help them connect with the history and sacrifice behind the day. After the program, please stay for a light breakfast, a chance to visit with students and one another.

To help families prepare, we have also sent home activities to explore at home. These activities are a great way to talk with your child about what Veterans Day means and to learn more about the Veterans in your own family and community.

Thank you for helping us show our appreciation to those who have served.
