Boys Tennis Sign-Up (Grades 7-8)
Spring 2025 Season Starting March 17 ( Sign-Up Deadline is 11:59pm March 2)
This is the invitation and opportunity for boys in grades 7-8 to sign up and try out for the high school boys tennis team (grades 9-12 will sign-up separately in person at the high school). The team will be capped at 24 players (grades 7-12 combined). If we reach that cap by the deadline, late entries will not be accepted. If we do not reach the cap by the deadline, we will accept late entries until we reach 24. If we have more than 24 sign up before the deadline, we will reduce the team down to 24 during the first week of practice (there will be a tryout process, so making the team is not a guarantee). Boys who try out should have some prior exposure to the sport of tennis (have some basic skills and know the basic rules of the game) and must have a serious interest in playing tennis. They should also be committed to being at almost all practices and competitions (90% attendance is expected).
To sign up, email your son's name and grade to Coach Brian Dobbs at brian.dobbs@k12.sd.us. You will get a reply on March 3 with attachments containing the schedule, physical form, and the BHS tennis handbook which contains a variety of information that should answer any questions you might have.

Brookings School District will have a 2-hour late start on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Please note, it will still be an early release Wednesday as usual. Stay safe and warm!

MMS Lifting group for Tuesday, February 11, has been canceled due to forecasted windchill in the morning.

Good afternoon, during 5th period (band, orchestra, and choir) class, we had a technician servicing our generator. The exhaust fumes made their way into our air intake and dispersed into our band, choir, and orchestra rooms. Once our staff noticed the smell, they evacuated the rooms and went elsewhere in the building. We will not be having classes in those areas this afternoon and are working to clear the rooms of any exhaust fumes.
